Yesterday our good friends had to say goodbye to this amazing creature, Leo the giant dog. I am honored to have been able to document some of their time with wonderful Leo before he headed on to his next journey.
I couldn’t sleep last night thinking about all of them and what I could possibly write to share these pictures. I don’t want to speak for them, as their experience with this sweet boy is theirs and is so personal and should only be described by them. So I will simply say, this post is for this beautiful family and for all of those who have loved and lost a friend. This is for all those amazing dogs who greet us with their bodies swaying from side to side with excitement at the mere sight of us. If you have been lucky enough to experience a friendship with an animal, you will forever be better because of it. If we could learn anything from these creatures it should be to love purely and freely, but to not take life so seriously.
I have loved and lost many dogs in my life, each loss left a scar or course, but each of them has enriched my life and changed me forever.
To my friends, thank you for allowing me to be with all of you on this sweet day. I will miss Leo and will remember him always. I love you.
God speed Leo!
